What’s Unique about the American Standard 288AA114.020 H2Optimum Siphonic?
The American Standard H2Optimum Siphonic is one of the best toilets we reviewed. It is an extremely water efficient and environmentally friendly model, and for this aspect it is hard to beat, especially in this price range.
It is a predominantly functional and space saving toilet which is made from classic white porcelain, and the two piece design has an elongated bowl with a rounded front and a 15 inch ADA approved height to ensure it will fit into the smallest of bathrooms.
What are the Potential Drawbacks of the H2Optimum Siphonic?
While there are numerous benefits to the American Standard 288AA114.020 H2Optimum Siphonic, there are a few minor drawbacks to this model as well.
The toilet bowl is elongated yet has a rounded front; this makes it rather small to sit on, and a little low to the ground as well with a rim height of 15 inches. The standard rim height for toilets in the US is 16-18 inches.
Another drawback of the American Standard H2Optimum Siphonic is that it comes without a seat, so you will need to source a suitable and good quality seat separately. If spare parts are required for repair work or replacement, these will also need to be sourced and this may be a little challenging to get parts which are a perfect fit for this model.
Finally, the H2Optimum Siphonic toilet is very functional, but has a design that isn’t the most modern or classy to suit more stylish, high end bathrooms. It can also suffer from a slightly inconsistent level of flushability.
